Writing to you from the Yacht Club....

So, about 2 years ago, we bought a small sailboat. We were lucky enough to get dock space on Lake Winnipesaukee. The yacht club has a pool, hot tub, grills, lounge chairs, AND FREE wifi and a business center. So, I can grab my coffee and laptop, jump in our MINI cooper convertible and roll over there with the top down and work my butt off while I stare out at the lake and mountains. Plus, the kids get to use the beach and pools and pretty much stay out of my hair.

We still have printers running in the print department and customer service people but I am seriously thinking of moving the whole facility here....What do you think?

So, one of the goals I have set for this business is that we act as socially and environmentally responsible as possible. To start off we are a business in New Hampshire. A land of green mountains and blue lakes and rocky coastlines. I, myself, grew up in Alton, NH, a lakeside community with a population that quadrupled in the summer with tourists from all over the country. One of the things I was always taught from a young age was to have respect for the Earth. And that is exactly what I plan to do with my business.

We are made in good old USA, NH to be precise and will commit to "green" business practices. I will also commit to giving back to my community and running my business with a high commitment to customer service and ethical practices.

2 Weeks from being OPEN!

So, I have to say how excited I was to wake up this morning and check the site and there are NO MIS-SPELLINGS on the home page. You have NO idea how hard it is to have someone else working on a website for you and mis-spelling things and you have no control to change it immediately. Believe me, it burns! I would wake up every morning like a kid and Christmas and check the site to see the changes...always hoping to get it right. Today is the first day after 6 whole months of checking it that I see no major changes to the home page!!!!! I feel like running through the streets (even though it is pouring rain here in NH) singing and dancing my little heart out. So, please join me as I dance around the office!!!

Printing Space Murals makes us Spacey

So, we are printing space murals here at Customized Walls today. This one in particular http://www.customizedwalls.com/Product3969-cw-id_1305.htm. Our customer is having us add some art of a little astronaut with her son's face on it into the mural near Planet Earth. What a cool idea and what a cool mom, huh?

Well, this all got us thinking about Space, black holes, and time travel. Today, it is gorgeous in New Hampshire and I could not be happier to be right where I am but MAN, there have been times when I am waist deep in snow that I would like nothing better than to stick my toes in the warm sands of Fiji. So, how about you? Where would you go if you could go anywhere in the galaxy today?

Customized Walls - Our pictures on the website...finally

The adventures of starting a business. For the last several months I have been working hard to bring www.customizedwalls to life. Our web developer, though very nice, is incredibly S...L...O...W! Sometimes I feel like we are hostages! He sometimes won't return emails (though I admit to stalking him by writing SEVERAL a day)...

I know that I can be bossy and demanding sometimes......BUT, I have been giving this guy edit after edit and have not seen any changes in weeks.

And then, I woke up this morning and oh, what in my eyes do appear? He added OUR pictures to the rotation on our website!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!
